The plant

Lemon balm is a mint-family herb with soft, lightly crinkled leaves that release a citrus scent when rubbed.

What's in it

Rosmarinic acid is a natural plant compound. Citral-related aromatic substances help give the leaf its lemon fragrance.

Citral

Geranial and neral together. The lemon note, also the main compound of lemongrass.

Citronellal

Contributes the sharper, greener edge.

Rosmarinic acid

A polyphenol, abundant across the mint family.

Geraniol

A rose-like note underneath.

How it works

Calm and digestion: Lemon balm is traditionally used for mild stress and digestive fullness. Everyday connection: Stress can be felt in the stomach as well as the mind. This herb’s traditional use brings together a calming tea routine and comfort after food.

In the tradition

A longstanding European herb for evening and digestive blends.

Its lemon scent comes from the leaf’s natural oils.
