Menopause Steam
Select sizeThe plant
A proprietary blend of motherwort, lavender, red clover, raspberry leaf, oregano and rose petals, mixed in-house rather than sold as a single herb.
What's in it
Contains motherwort, lavender, red clover, raspberry leaf, oregano and rose petals. Traditionally used as a warming ritual for rest and self-care.
How it works
Vaginal steaming is a traditional practice in which warm, herb-infused steam is used externally. The warmth is the active part of the experience; the herbs are chosen for their long-standing traditional associations — here, eases hot flashes, hormonal balance, reduces stress, supports circulation.
In the tradition
Herbal vaginal steaming has a long history across West African, Caribbean, Central American and East Asian traditions, typically as a postpartum and cyclical self-care practice passed between women rather than through formal medicine.
- 1Place 2 tsp of the blend in a bowl of just-boiled water and leave it to steep and cool for at least 5 minutes before use.
- 2Test the steam with your hand first. It should feel warm and comfortable, never hot — steam burns to delicate tissue are the real risk with this practice.
- 3Sit or squat over the bowl with a blanket around you, for 15–20 minutes.
- 4One pouch gives roughly 3–4 steams.
- Do not use during pregnancy, or if you think you may be pregnant.
- Do not use while menstruating.
- Do not use if you have an IUD or coil fitted.
- Do not use if you have an active infection, open sores, or genital blisters.
- Speak to your doctor first if you are trying to conceive, are taking blood-thinning medication, or have any gynaecological condition.
- Never steam over water hot enough to feel uncomfortable. Allow it to cool first.
- External use only. This is a traditional practice and is not a substitute for medical care.
For external use only. Patch test before first use, and stop if any irritation develops.
